Ready, Set, Go!

Catalina Ward’s “More Fit for the Kingdom” is a 12-week, 3-cycle program to motivate each of us to improve our physical and spiritual selves.  As we work together to develop healthy habits we can encourage and strengthen one another to be ready for whatever life brings. 

Below is an overview of the challenge.  We will begin the first 12-week cycle on Monday, January 30th.  

Goals
There are four daily goals and two weekly goals.  A total of 50 points can be earned per person for a perfect week.  The goals and points awarded are as follows:
¨     Scripture Study: 1 point/day + 3 bonus points for a perfect week of 7 days.  Even one verse is better than none!
¨     Daily Prayers (morning and night): 1 point/day + 3 bonus points for a perfect week of 7 days.
¨     Family Home Evening: 5 points per week for holding FHE (any day)
¨     Healthy Choice (exercise): 1 point/day + 4 bonus points for a perfect week of 6 days (one day of rest will still get you a total of 10 points).  Because everyone is different, you are to choose your own exercise goal for the week.  It can even remain constant throughout the 12 weeks!  The point is to become more active and/or challenge yourself a little more than you already are. 
¨     Healthy Choice (nutrition): 1 point/day + 4 bonus points for a perfect week of 6 days (one day of rest will still get you a total of 10 points).  Because everyone is different, you are to choose your own nutrition goal for the week.  It can even remain constant throughout the 12 weeks!  The point is to become more aware of what you put into your body and/or challenge yourself a little more than you already are. 
¨     Personal Choice: 5 points/week (this can be a daily goal – ex: write in my journal 5 days this week – or a weekly goal – ex: visit the temple this week).  The “Personal Choice” goals rotate each week.  Every three weeks the goals are based on the purposes of Relief Society according to Daughters in My Kingdom.  Each fourth week you can choose which of these three areas you would like to work on, or choose a completely different goal for yourself.

If you’re afraid you won’t remember the points above, don’t worry!  The tracking sheet does all of the math for you.  You just need to “x” the days you complete your goals!

Reporting Points
Once you decide to participate you will choose a method of communication: either text or email.  You will receive a weekly reminder via text or email to report your points; simply reply with your number for that week.  All personal points will remain confidential.  The total number of points for the ward will be combined and the total will be announced the following Sunday.
